Announce-Zicree

Surprise!! We have one final guest announcement to make! We’re very excited to say that film and television writer MARC SCOTT ZICREE will be coming to the convention this year! You know Marc’s work from Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Sliders, Babylon 5, Beauty and the Beast, TekWar, Space Precinct, and many other great shows. He’s currently developing a new show called Space Command, starring two of our guests, Ethan McDowell and Bryan McClure. We’ll be doing a screening of the first episode and the three will be doing a Q&A all about the project. In addition, Marc will be doing a talk about his career, appearing on other panels, and will be doing a special session for folks wanting to break into the television and film industry. Please help us welcome Marc to the WHOlanta family!

NEW GUEST: Edward Russell

Announce-Edward

Our generous GoFundMe contributors made it possible for us to book one more guest for WHOlanta 2019! EDWARD RUSSELL was the Doctor Who Brand Manager for eleven years, from Series Two through the end of the Peter Capaldi era. If you watched it, read it, listened to it, or collected it, he was involved in it. His era included three Doctors, two showrunners and, of course, the 50th anniversary in 2013. He was the main point of contact for Publishing, Licensing, Digital, Sales and Events, so there’s pretty much nothing with the name Doctor Who on it that didn’t cross his desk. Edward will be on our main stage as well as signing autographs and selling merchandise.

NEW GUEST: Kelly Yates

Announce-Kelly

It just wouldn’t be WHOlanta without this gentleman – Doctor Who comics artist and merchandise designer KELLY YATES will be here in May You know Kelly’s work on the Doctor Who comics line for both IDW and Titan, including his work on “The Prisoners of Time” and “The Forgotten,” plus the exclusive WHOlanta cover of the Twelfth Doctor comic for Free Comic Book Day in 2017. He has two creator-owned comic series to his name, Amber Atoms and MonstHer. More recently, he is the creator of the Kawai’i line of Doctor Who merchandise, which includes vinyl figures and apparel, including exclusives for Hot Topic. Kelly will be appearing on Doctor Who  and comics panels throughout the weekend, and you can visit his table to say hi and buy art prints. Welcome back to WHOlanta, Kelly!

Welcome JANET FIELDING to WHOlanta! Janet is of course best known to Whovians for playing Tegan Jovanka, companion to the Fourth and Fifth Doctors. With over 3-1/2 seasons on the show, she’s one of the longest-running companions ever, and that doesn’t even count her numerous Big Finish appearances. She’s also been an agent (she got Paul McGann the job as the Eighth Doctor!), been involved in an international organization called Women in Film and Television, and currently runs a non-profit organization. She’ll be doing a couple of Q&As on Saturday and Sunday and will be available for autographs and photo ops all weekend. To learn more about Janet Fielding, visit our GUESTS page!

We have a guest double-header today! Two previous guests are making return visits to WHOlanta this year. The first is PixelWho (Nathan Skreslet and Ly Cao). You know them for Nathan’s artwork, focused on creating a complete visual character dictionary and episode guide for Doctor Who fans in limited edition pixelated style art prints. They’ve been fixtures at the past four WHOlantas and we’re thrilled to have them back with us! Joining us for her second time (last year was her first visit to WHOlanta) is performer Cat Smith, an actor, a musician, and a cosplayer since before there was a word for it! You’ll be seeing all three of these lovely folks at their tables as well as on panels, game shows, and cabaret. Visit our Guests page to read more about them and all of our guests!
