The Intown Food Pantry is an emergency food program that serves the
Intown/Midtown area of Atlanta. Its aim is to help alleviate hunger by providing
nutritious food and social service information to those who need them. The
pantry serves the needs of the elderly, disabled and homeless in these areas. No
person is turned away. The Pantry recently moved to the Atlanta Presbyterian
Church on Ponce DeLeon Ave and is experiencing a guest growth that is leaving
the pantry short of food items for our guests. This food drive will help to generate
needed food/bags/packing for the pantry and its guests.
The Pantry can take any/all dry good/canned items like Juice, soups, fruit,
vegetables, ready to eat meals, pasta, spaghetti sauce, as well as the needed
peanut butter, jelly and canned meats (Tuna, Chicken, Salmon, Spam). Meat Type items are usually the most in demand. The pantry is also looking for
donations of fresh food items to make meals for the hungry on the Saturday
mornings of our food distribution. You can contact Mike Henigan to arrange for
any fresh food donations or after Convention donations.
We can also take donations of ANY shopping bags and Ziploc-type bags as well. We use several hundred shopping bags every week. Wholanta is in the running for the 2017 Atlanta Convention Cornucopia Award, the local convention that raises the most food for the Intown Food Pantry. As such, help us by donating and receive a raffle ticket for the raffle of a 2018 Wholanta Weekend Pass!
The ACCA was designed and is sponsored by the HMS Achilles, the local Royal Manticoran Navy Honor Harrington Fan Club.
Thank you for your help and support!
