WHOlanta 2017 is officially OPEN! Come meet staff members, get introduced to our app, and hear about some of the weekend’s highlights.

7:00 – VIP RECEPTION
Kick off your weekend with a private catered reception mingling with a few staff persons, all of our Guests, and your fellow VIPs.

Bowie-logo8:30 – DAVID BOWIE TRIBUTE BAND
Join local tribute band Jerome Newton and the Band Who Fell to Earth for a concert retrospective of the Thin White Duke’s greatest hits. You’ll hear all the biggies, like “Space Oddity,” “Ziggy Stardust,” “Fame,” “Let’s Dance,” as well as a few surprises! Join the band’s Facebook page here.

10:00 – THAT MOXIE SHOW! 
The legendary Lt. Moxie Anne Magnus, Chief Xeno-Cosmetologist of the USS Enterprise,  brings her acclaimed one-woman show from the 23rd Century all the way to Atlanta, GA just for you!

GGN11:00 – GALLIFREY GAME NIGHT
You’ve seen the NBC game show, hosted by Jane Lynch! Here’s our own special version of it! See our Guests team up with participants from the audience in a fast-paced battle of wits that tests their knowledge of pop culture. You’ll see games like ‘No Harm No Vowel’, ‘Smash the Buzzer’ and ‘Be Kind, Rewind’. Things might get a little bit rowdy on stage, so this event is 18+.


SATURDAY: 

retrotv10:00 – RETROTV Q&A
RetroTV is the national broadcast home of Doctor Who. Come meet Matt Golden and hear a little bit about Retro’s history, how it brought classic Who back to America, and what the future holds for our favorite show and (hopefully!) other classic British programming.

11:00 – JAMIE MATHIESON Q&A
Jamie has been a scriptwriter during the Peter Capaldi era of Doctor Who. Hear about his scripts from Series 8 and 9, some of his other work, and ask him your questions. And maybe he’ll give us an exclusive preview of his new episode, airing next week!

12:00 – CAMILLE CODURI Q&A
Camille played Rose’s mum, Jackie Tyler, on the first four seasons of the rebooted Doctor Who. Hear about her time on the show, how she came to be involved in this iconic show, and about the next steps for Jackie in Big Finish Audio!

1:00 – TITAN COMICS Q&A
Titan Comics is the current monthly comic book home of Doctor Who. Get the lowdown on all the great stuff coming up with artist Kelly Yates and a Skype interview with Brand manager Chris Thompson, editor Andrew James, writer Alex Panknadel, and artist Simon Myers all the way from London!

2:00 – COLIN BAKER AND NICOLA BRYANT Q&A
For the first time ever, WHOlanta brings you a Doctor and Companion together! Hear Colin and Nicola share stories from their time on the show, about some of their other work, and what they have coming up on the horizon.

3:00 – EARTH STATION WHO PODCAST: “What We Learned from Doctor Who
Join the folks from Earth Station Who as they record a show for their podcast. Join in the discussion and hear your voice on their next podcast.

4:00 – JAMIE MATHIESON EPISODE COMMENTARY: “Mummy On the Orient Express”
Voted on by YOU and winning by a landslide, Jamie’s hugely popular Series 8 episode “Mummy On the Orient Express” gets the commentary treatment. Learn all the little behind-the-scene facts about how this episode originated and developed.

5:00 – NICOLA BRYANT EPISODE COMMENTARY: “The Caves of Androzani”
Before her two-season stint with the Sixth Doctor, Per Brown traveled for a time with the Fifth. We’ll see Episode X and hear Nicola talk about the making of this iconic Doctor Who classic.

Cabaret7:00 – THE 2017 WHOLANTA CABARET and MASQUERADE
Out annual fundraiser supporting local charity the Intown Food Pantry, which provides nourishment to persons in need. This year our Cabaret joins forces with our annual Masquerade, so you can expect a huge show! Hosted by the always outrageous Lt. Moxie Magnus, Chief Cosmetology Officer on the USS Enterprise, enjoy an evening of entertainment for the whole family! At TimeGate 2016 we featured the talents of Terry Molloy, Louis Robinson, Courtland Lewis, Alan Siler, and the folks from GeekVs.com, the Cabaret costs $5 and 100% of the money raised goes to Intown Food Pantry.

9:00 – SCREENING: Doctor Who “The Haunted Hub”
This year, Doctor Who broadcasts in the Spring, and episode 4 coincides with our convention! An entire Doctor Who convention watching a brand-new, never-before-seen Doctor Who episode … You can’t get more perfect than that.

OrientExpress10:30 – DANCE ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS
Dance your way back in time to the era of speakeasies, Agatha Christie and Fantastic Beasts, when trains were still glamorous, big band music was all the rage and the world was on the verge of the swing craze. Costumes are encouraged, particularly period costumes. Hopefully no one will become a victim in the next murder case!


SUNDAY:

10:00 – FELT NERDY PUPPET SHOW
The folks from Felt Nerdy are always a big hit at WHOlanta, bringing their Doctor Who-themed shows to our convention.

11:00 – THE KEN SPIVEY BAND
KSB brings their unique blend of Celtic, Steampunk and Time Lord Rock back to WHOlanta!

12:00 – THE WOMEN OF DOCTOR WHO: NICOLA BRYANT AND CAMILLE CODURI
A unique opportunity to hear about the careers and experiences of two women from very different eras of the show – Nicola Bryant from the 1980s and Camille Coduri from the 2000s. They’ll talk about their different experiences on the show and in their respective careers.

1:00 – COLIN BAKER’S GREATEST HITS
Join Colin Baker for a visual walk down memory lane and hear him talk about his long career in television, with clips from The Brothers, Blake’s 7, Doctor Who and other shows.

2:00 – CAMILLE CODURI EPISODE COMMENTARY: “Rose” and “Love & Monsters”
Camille will discuss the making of these two hugely important episodes for Jackie – “Rose”, which introduces Jackie and kicks off a whole new era of Doctor Who, and “Love & Monsters”, which deals with those left behind by the Doctor.

3:00 – STAR TREK CONTINUES Q&A
James Kerwin from Star Trek Continues talks about how the show came about and shows some highlights of their episodes. Joining him will be two of ST:C‘s guest stars, Colin Baker and Nicola Bryant!

Join Christian Basel and Patty Hawkins for a recording that will be used in an upcoming episode of the MarkWHO42 radio show.

5:00 – THE GREAT BIG DOCTOR WHO PANEL
Close our your convention weekend with a round-up of all our Doctor Who guests on stage together – and maybe even a surprise or two (in 2016 we had a very last minute guest join us on stage!).

6:00 – CLOSING CEREMONY
